House rules

1. Consideration for others and instructions

All guests should behave in a way that does not endanger or harass other people or interfere with their use of the venue.

Safety, operating and emergency instructions given by staff must be followed.

2. Lanes and machinery areas

The approaches may be entered only for their intended use in bowling. Entering the lane surfaces themselves, machinery areas and other restricted areas is prohibited because of the significant risk of slipping, crushing and other accidents.

Bowling is not permitted on equipment that is switched off, blocked off or visibly malfunctioning. Technical problems must be reported to staff immediately. Unauthorised attempts to repair the equipment or clear a fault are not permitted.

3. Bowling shoes and personal equipment

Only suitable bowling shoes may be worn when bowling. Suitable personal bowling shoes are permitted. Rental shoes must not be worn outdoors or outside the designated areas.

Personal bowling balls or other equipment may be used only if they are suitable for the facilities and are in a safe condition. Staff instructions on safe use must be followed.

4. Children and supervision

Children must be supervised appropriately by the adults accompanying or supervising them. Running, jumping and rough play are not permitted in the lane, approach or service areas.

For children’s birthday parties, at least one responsible adult supervisor must remain at the venue.

5. Broken glass, spills and hazards

Broken glass, spilled liquids, damage and other hazards must be reported to staff immediately. The affected area must not be used again until staff have released it for use.

6. Food and drink

A birthday cake may be brought in for a booked children’s birthday party without an additional cake fee. On request and by prior arrangement, Berolina can keep the cake refrigerated until it is served, bring it to the table, and provide plates and cutlery. At the guests’ request, the cake can be cut either by the guests or by staff.

Other food brought in from outside and all drinks brought in from outside are not permitted.

7. Decorations and photography

Decorations are permitted provided that they do not obstruct escape routes, safety equipment, lanes or technical equipment and do not damage surfaces. Attaching decorations to structural components or technical equipment and installing larger structures must be agreed with Berolina in advance.

Confetti is not permitted. Additional cleaning costs or damages may be claimed only where the statutory requirements are met; no flat-rate confetti or cleaning fee is charged.

Private photography and video recordings are permitted. The rights of other guests and employees must be respected; recognisable individual images of other people require their consent. Commercial or organised recordings must be agreed with Berolina in advance.

8. Smoking, vaping, alcohol and intoxicating substances

Statutory smoking and youth-protection provisions must be observed.

Smoking tobacco and using e-cigarettes, e-shishas, heated-tobacco products and comparable products are permitted only in the two small, designated and fully separated smoking rooms at the respective ends of the venue. The self-closing doors must be kept closed. Access to the venue and the toilets does not pass through these rooms. Persons under 18 are not permitted to enter. While smoking is taking place, employees do not enter the rooms during regular operations and no service is provided there.

Cannabis consumption is not permitted anywhere on the premises.

Persons who are heavily intoxicated, under the influence of other intoxicating substances or clearly present a danger may be refused entry or further use of the venue.

9. Animals and assistance dogs

Animals may not be brought into the venue. This does not apply to assistance dogs within the meaning of section 12e BGG that accompany a person with a disability. Statutory rights of access remain unaffected.

10. Lighting and sound effects

Dynamic lighting and sound effects may be used in the regular bowling areas depending on the day, time and event. Strobe lights are not used. Guests with particular sensitivity to light or sound can contact staff before booking or on site. Lighting in the VIP area can be adjusted separately to the requirements of the person making the booking.

11. Conduct and protection of other guests

Violence, threats, discriminatory or seriously harassing conduct, and deliberate damage to facilities are not tolerated.

To avert danger, prevent serious disruption or address repeated breaches of these House Rules, staff may give reasonable instructions and, where necessary, exercise Berolina’s rights as occupier.

12. Damage and personal belongings

Anyone who culpably damages facilities, equipment or other property is liable in accordance with the statutory provisions.

The statutory liability rules apply to personal belongings. Berolina does not exclude liability for lost or damaged belongings across the board.

13. Bookings and payments

Conclusion of the contract, payment, reserved duration, lane assignment, late arrival, cancellation, no-shows, extensions and operational failures are governed by the separate Booking and Event Conditions.

14. Application and availability

These House Rules are displayed conspicuously or made easily accessible at the venue. Where they are intended to become part of a contract, Berolina expressly draws attention to them before the contract is concluded and provides a reasonable opportunity to review them.

Berolina does not assert that entering the venue alone constitutes agreement to these House Rules.
